After fending off drunken floozies while watching the superbowl, I went to Isla Mujeres. It's like a fucking Corona commercial here! The water here is exactly what you'd expect from the Caribbean; blue as hell, waist deep for a hundred meters out, and warmer than the air most of the time. I'm really digging it here, but it has been raining for the past couple of days which is kindof a downer. At least it's not cold and rainy, like San Fran, so I think I'll live.
Two nights ago I went and hung out at Poc Na, a cool hostel, and met some cool people. We all got pretty drunk and went swimming at two in the morning. We had to get out because the tide was changing, and it was starting to suck out pretty hard, and I went and smoked a joint in my room and passed out. The next night, which was last night, it started raining. The streets started flooding, and everybody was dodging rain from above and puddles from below at the same time. I went into a place for dinner, and after I finished my meal I noticed that there was live music across the street. I went over, had a mojito, and then asked if I could play a song. The guy let me play, and I played "Wild Horses" and "English Girls Approximately" for the people in the bar. They seemed to like it, and I had a great time playing, even just a couple of songs. That will probably be the highlight of my stay on Isla Mujeres, unless I do something really cool in the next two days!
Take care anyone who's reading, and I'll post more soon (possibly with pictures if I'm not too lazy)!
